I'm such a bad blogger! I've been so incredibly busy doing nothing, that I haven't been able to find time to journal. I know that doesn't really make any sense, but it's sort of how things are at the moment. I've been resting a lot and spending as much one on two time as possible with the kids. I haven't had much time for anything else.
Reagan keeps on learning anyway. We read 3 chapters from Robinson Crusoe yesterday. What an interesting story. I'd actually never read it. Although the version we're reading is adapted for children, it's not simple, nor is the language "dumbed down". I have him summarize after each chapter which gives me a chance to reinforce the important points of the story so that he will carry them into the next chapter. He's really enjoying it. Sometimes I can't tell what he likes more, the story or reading with mom. I'll take either. If time with mom makes reading fun for him, wonderful. I just want to instill a love of books.
Piper is fantastic. She's so happy and fun. She just wants to be close and share all of the wonderful things she is discovering in her world. She loves books, too. She'll bring some to me and have me read them over and over. Poor thing, she's pretty much completely destroyed her favorite book "A Tellytubbie Christmas" I think cardboard books are still the way to go at this age. She can love the books without doing them much harm.
Dominic is working today. We're hoping that he's kept at work for mandatory overtime. I haven't seen this much snow since we moved to Minnesota. It's halfway up the wood paneling on our balcony! There has to be at least a foot and a half out there. Maybe for people who've grown up with this it's not odd, but for me it is. I just want him to be able to leave work on time and come home safely. Our Hyundai is definitely not 4 wheel drive, and I don't think I'll stop worrying until he walks through the door unharmed. I've heard that in some parts of the country the tow trucks wont even stop to help motorists because it's too dangerous.
Baby is kicking and moving, and my medication is making me want to lie down for another nap. Since Piper is sleeping, I really should take advantage and do the same.
